Drawing inspiration from years of traveling overseas growing up and eventually doing the same when active duty military, Ashley brings a unique perspective to every shot, blending technical skill with a profound appreciation for nature. Jeresneyka (Jeh-Reh-Snay-Kah) Rose, known as Rizzo, of ArtByRizzo, is a self-taught visual artist and community advocate based in Southeast Colorado Springs. She has exhibited her works and led creative workshops nationwide. Rose has created and facilitated community-based art projects in partnership with numerous organizations such as Southwest Airlines, Food to Power, Trust for Public Land, Generation Wild of the Pikes Peak Region, The City of Colorado Springs, Harrison District Two, and Pikes Peak Library District. She thrives off of allowing her creativity to be incorporated within community. Her passion is creating positive messages of hope for the broader community through the transformational power of art.

Oscar Rose

To the world I’m Oscar Rose, a veteran, creator, and a Colorado based photographer. Born in Brooklyn, New York and growing up on the south side of Colorado Springs I am inspired by the community I was raised in, and want to share that same inspiration through anything I create. The goal is to create a vision that others can relate to and embody a perspective that is a living and breathing experience. There is a story behind everything. Step out of your own shoes and live vicariously through the lens of my work. This is for the south side and most importantly the kid in me watching his dreams and goals turn to reality. Embrace the journey, love it, feel it, and thank the universe for giving us opportunities to live freely.

The entire collection is called Paul Mooney. Each photograph has a unique title but I would rather the collection be seen as a whole. The story behind this is breaking barriers of common stereotypes that are placed on black people in America. The essence behind the title “Paul Mooney” comes from the late great Paul Mooney, a comedian, who once said “Everybody wanna be a nigga, but no body wanna be a nigga” and this is the projection of that.
- Each individual picture’s price is up for negotiation but a fair starting point I see is $75 for one individual picture. For any sets in the collection paired together the price would be bundled with a slight discount.
